Founded in 2003, our client is an industry network that was established to seamlessly and digitally connect companies within the construction sector. Similar to social networks, industry networks create powerful connections, enabling businesses to easily and quickly find and share vital information.
Recognizing the project-centric nature of the construction industry, the network’s cornerstone is a project intelligence service focused on the Middle East and North Africa. This service provides access to the region’s largest construction intelligence database, empowering companies with actionable insights.
THE CHALLENGE
As one of the early adopters of public cloud technology, the client faced mounting challenges in managing and optimizing their AWS environments. Over time, maintaining efficient cloud operations became increasingly complex and resource-intensive.

Laying the
Groundwork: A Comprehensive Onboarding
The Managed Services onboarding process began with an introductory session to familiarize the client’s stakeholders with Bespin’s Managed Services team. During this session, Bespin’s team outlined the terms and conditions of the contract, covering the scope of services, SLAs, and escalation protocols. The client’s IT team was also introduced to Bespin’s FinOps and ITSM tools, crucial for managing cost optimization and service tracking. “Bringing everyone to the same table and aligning our approach was essential,” says Alexander. “It’s where we built the foundation for a transparent, collaborative relationship.”
After gaining access to the client’s AWS accounts, awareness sessions with the Managed Services team were held to understand the client’s AWS infrastructure and applications in depth. These sessions allowed Bespin to conduct a thorough assessment of their existing AWS landscape, identifying key areas for optimization and security enhancements.
Once fully onboarded, Bespin’s Managed Services team implemented several key steps to complete the handover process. They integrated AWS billing with OpsNow, Bespin’s FinOps tool, enabling real-time cost management and visibility into AWS expenses. Additionally, third-party monitoring across all the client’s workloads were deployed, linking alerts with Jira, the ITSM ticketing tool, to streamline issue resolution. Cloud security measures were also implemented in line with best practices, ensuring comprehensive protection of cloud resources. “Security and efficiency were top priorities,” explains Alexander. “We wanted our client to feel confident that their environment was safe, manageable, and transparent.”
Strengthening Security and Compliance
Bespin’s team also reviewed and adjusted the client’s access permissions, recommending a least privilege access model coupled with multi-factor authentication for enhanced security. Backup policies were updated to align with business needs and compliance standards, giving the client peace of mind about data resilience and availability.
With onboarding complete, Bespin began delivering the full range of AWS Managed Services for the client. This included assisting with setup and management of AWS workloads, proactive monitoring to ensure smooth operations, cost optimization, and security measures to keep their environment compliant and secure. “Our Managed Services extended to regular backup and recovery strategy updates, system maintenance, and performance optimization, all while enforcing governance policies to maintain a clear audit trail” adds Alexander.

These include MS Operations and Business Review Reports, which cover essential metrics and highlight actions taken to enhance agility, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency. Additionally, Well-Architected Reviews (WAR) assess the alignment of the client’s workloads with AWS best practices, identifying risks and opportunities for enhancement. “These insights give the client a roadmap to continually elevate their cloud performance,” says Alexander. “It’s all about empowering them to grow confidently, knowing they have a strong foundation in place.
