Our Story with Gartner
Understanding the magic quadrant
The Ability to Execute axis assesses how well vendors are able to deliver and execute their stated visions, plans, and strategies. It evaluates their current products and services, sales execution, marketing execution, customer experience, overall viability, and market responsiveness.
The Completeness of Vision axis assesses how well vendors understand and respond to the current and future market needs. It evaluates their market understanding, marketing strategy, differentiation, product/service strategy, innovation, and overall relative strength.
The Magic Quadrant positions vendors into four quadrants: Leaders, Visionaries, Niche Players, and Challengers.
- Leaders: Leaders have a high Ability to Execute and a high Completeness of Vision. They are established and well-respected vendors in the market.
- Visionaries: Visionaries have a high Completeness of Vision but a lower Ability to Execute. They are innovative vendors with a clear vision for the future of the market, but they may not be fully able to execute their plans.
- Niche Players: Niche Players have a lower Ability to Execute and a lower Completeness of Vision. They are specialized vendors that focus on a specific segment of the market.
- Challengers: Challengers have a high Ability to Execute but a lower Completeness of Vision. They are established vendors with a strong ability to deliver products and services, but they may not have a clear vision for the future of the market.
Gartner’s Magic Quadrant is a valuable tool for businesses that are looking to evaluate and compare vendors in a specific technology market. It can help businesses make informed decisions about their IT investments.
